About

The Background

Kris Cirkuit is a dynamic artist and creative technologist based in Edinburgh, blending art and technology to craft immersive, interactive experiences. Their work spans creative coding, bespoke web applications, high-quality art prints, and spatial soundtracks for gallery environments. Alongside their artistic practice, Kris offers technical consultation and coding solutions tailored to the needs of artists, organisations, and creative teams.

The studio was founded following Kris’s MA in Computational Art at Goldsmiths, University of London, with the aim of bringing experimental digital practices into real-world contexts. With a background as a qualified sound engineer, Kris brings a deep understanding of both technical precision and artistic expression to each project.

At the heart of the practice are values that shape every collaboration: honesty, attention to detail, a spirit of curiosity, and a commitment to continuous learning. Whether working independently or as part of a team, Kris fosters a collaborative and thoughtful approach—delivering work that’s both innovative and grounded.

Kris’s personal work is inspired by a sense of place—both internal and external. Their practice explores themes of belonging, connection, and identity, posing open-ended questions such as: Who belongs? What belongs? For Kris, place is understood as both a physical location and a spiritual dimension, inviting deep reflection on the landscapes we inhabit and the ones we carry within.

What People Are Saying

Rachel M. Jardin

"Kris is a personable creative coder who acts of utmost professionalism in the whole duration of the project I hired her in. She takes initiative in suggesting ideas to further improve the visual stimuli that I asked to be coded. Furthermore, she is prompt in all online meetings and deadlines. As a person who is new to p5.js, she was nice enough to also send me a tutorial video on how to run the code on the project website!"

"I've been lucky to work with Kris on two major soundscape commissions for gallery-based site specific installations.

In each instance, I provided Kris with a creative brief, a timeline and budget, which we discussed and agreed together. Kris's experience and professionalism made the process really easy.

Everything was completed on time, and communication throughout was clear and easy. They were professional, reliable, and really understood what the project needed.

Kris delivered highly thoughtful and well-crafted soundscapes that not only perfectly captured the atmosphere I was hoping for, but added rich creative layers that really enhanced the work.

Collaborating with Kris is always inspiring, productive and enjoyable. I’d be more than happy to work with them again.”

"“I had the privilege of working with Kris on a sound recording project for a charity in 2024/25. The project required us to record and produce personal statements from people who had, in some cases, experienced a recent bereavement. This meant the Kris needed to bring a human and sensitive approach to the work alongside technical expertise. Kris was a supportive and highly capable professional throughout all stages of the project from making recommendations for the equipment, right through to the final edits.”
