Originally released in 2023, Tides returned in a new form for 2025 — reshaped, reimagined, and re-tuned for Sound Disposition, a multi-channel surround sound event held in London.
Where the original leaned toward ambient atmospheres, this new iteration steps more fully into the realm of sonic art. Built from shifting tide data recorded at Portobello Beach, the composition reflects a rhythm that has changed over time, reshaping the work itself.
Recomposed and spatialised for a 13.2.6 surround system, the piece was designed to immerse audiences in layers of sound, space, and movement. Tides here is not a backdrop, but a sonic environment — an artwork to be heard, felt, and inhabited.
