Originally released in 2023, Tides returns in a new form—reshaped, reimagined, and re-tuned for 2025.
This version was created especially for Sound Disposition, a multi-channel surround sound event held in London in March 2025. Where the original leaned into ambient atmospheres, this new iteration steps more deliberately into the realm of sonic art—drawing from my background in the field and building a piece that responds to sound and space and movement.
The tide data has changed, reflecting a different rhythm in the Portobello coastline. In response, the entire composition has shifted. The soundtrack has been fully re-composed, spatialised for a 13.2.6 surround setup, and designed to immerse listeners in a layered, dynamic experience of time, sea, and sound.
This is Tides not as a passive background but as an active listening environment—a sonic artwork that asks to be heard, felt, and inhabited.
